Networking Devices

Hub: - Hub is a device which is used mainly for computer networking. It communicates data within systems. I t is a half duplex device which work on layer one.

Switch: - Switch is a intelligent device with communicates data between system and network which work on layer 2. It is a Full Duplex as well as Half Duplex devices. Switch terminate broadcast domain and minimized collision domain.

Bridge: - Bridge is a device which is used to connect different network topology. It works on layer 2.

Repeater: - Repeater is a device which is used to regenerate singles. This device work on layer 1. There are two types of repeater.

  1. Active Repeater
  2. Passive Repeater

Router: - Router is a device which is used for connecting multiple WAN networks. Router works on layer 3. The main works of router are routing, filtering (packet and data), security, connection or terminating collision domain.
